The Wine Country Model Club is excited to announce that it will be hosting a Wine Country Model Expo to be held at the Petaluma Community Center in the heart of California’s Wine Country from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday April 11, 2026.
Highlights of our Expo will be:
- Social Interaction and Community – the Expo’s focus is on the modeller, facilitating social interactions and building the local modeling community. The Expo will use an exhibition style display more like an art exhibit where all works of each modeler will be placed together on the display tables along with a name plaque and name badges identifying the modellers.
- Juried Exhibition – A pre-qualified selected team of jurors made up of modellers who have substantial experience in the type of model they are evaluating will evaluate models utilizing an “Open” or “Gold/Silver/Bronze” system where entries are evaluated on their own merit against a standard of excellence, not against other modelers. After the evaluations are completed, the jurors will be available to provide respectful feedback and critiques if requested.
- Seminars and Presentations – at the Expo you will be able to attend free seminar presentations from leading and experienced modellers and historians.
- Silent Auction – the Expo will feature a silent auction with a large number of high quality donations with all proceeds from the silent auction going to benefit the Redwood Empire Foster Parents Association
- Raffle – the Expo will include a raffle with two levels of prizes, along with a separate grand prize drawing of some truly incredible kits
- Vendors – Explore the vendor room where a selection of bargains awaits.
- People’s Choice Award – A People’s Choice award will also be given based on popular vote by the Expo participants.
- Special Awards – Our teams of jurors along with our head juror will also select models to receive special recognition by being awarded a Special Award, including a “Best of Show” winner.
Join us for a full day of modeling inspiration, networking, and celebration of the hobby—set against the backdrop of Wine Country’s unique culture and community.
