Presentations

In addition to exhibition-style displays and open system evaluations, the Wine Country Model Expo will feature a series of in-person presentations led by respected and accomplished modellers from across the hobby.

These sessions are designed to be practical, engaging, and accessible, offering attendees the opportunity to learn new techniques, explore different approaches, and engage directly with the presenters throughout the day.

We’re excited to welcome the following featured speakers to the Expo:

Grant Mayberry (Plastic Posse Podcast)
Figure painting across genres — practical techniques applicable to fantasy, sci-fi, and military subjects.

Brett Prusso (Hammerhead Model Making)
Stop Being Afraid of Scratch Building — demystifying scratch building using simple tools, materials, and layered techniques.

Martin Drayton (Emdee Scale Models)
Diorama composition — creating balance, focus, and narrative in scenic builds.

Carl Molesworth
WWII aviation history — an in-depth look at the P-40.

Each presentation is intended to complement the Expo’s relaxed, community-oriented format, encouraging discussion, questions, and shared learning rather than formal lecture-style sessions.

Detailed presentation descriptions and schedules will be shared as the Expo approaches.
